Apparrantly Pelligrini's biggest concern was that the manager did not have his own facilities and had to share a changing room with the rest of the coaching staff.... so I wouldn't worry too much about this.

the absolute state of rush green in this video- still got the old ford blue and white seats

listen i know that doesnt make the players play better but surely it shows a general wtf-ness to any player who has just joined ...like anderson !

Is there any land about big enough for us to build from scratch? Within our "catchment area"?

If they bought Crowlands golf course right next to rush green they'd be able to make it big enough to be standard. Of course that's be expensive but if you want to stay in the area...

Agree- i don't think any previous manager under this lot (Allardyce excepted, maybe) has felt they have the job security to start shouting the odds to the owners. They have always been clever/snide by giving out short contracts to 'grateful' people meaning they hold all the cards and can just get rid of a problem person if they don;t like what's being said.

Pellegrini is different. He has the right to tell it how he sees it and to hold the owners accountable for things for the first time in ages. West Ham and they need him more than he needs them. As it's ALL about face and image for them, they can't risk the embarrassment of him walking away and saying why, which would be devastating for them. This is why I believe we've spent a lot of money this summer. Pellegrini could be the catalyst for a lot of positive change in the football side of the business, fingers crossed.

We moved to Rush Green 6 months ahead of schedule because the medical staff suggested that Chadwell Heath's pitches could be partially to blame for some of the impact injuries.

Could the lack of facilities be one reason why over the years we have had such a big injury problem,?
____

arsenal have had terrible injuries and one of the best setups, so i think its not as black and white as that.

I do think that basics like being able to play on grass in the middle of winter would impact general & specific fitness/injuries

Up the old A13? Rainham Marshes area?

I suppose the analogy is this

If you buy a Porsche and don't get it maintained at a Porsche garage but rather Rons motors up the road, it will eventually break down due to inferior parts used.

We have a team of Reliant Robins maintained by a sweet shop !

Re: Urgent Upgrade to Training Ground demanded by Pellegrini
Previous managers just accepted it, Pellegrini won't accept mediocrity and quite frankly the board should be ashamed and embarrassed that we make do with such a tin pot set up.

There is nothing sex about money being spent on facilities for Sullivan, he loves the cut and thrust of buying cheap players for hopefully a decent sell on fee

Why does it need to be within our "catchment area"?

Cobham is miles away from Chelsea.

To be fair its a community partnership that also has softball diamonds (imagine the uproar on here if that was case with us) and cricket pitches.

My wife works very close to there.

____

Agreed. They do still have an equal /better setup to us tho' ;-)Hopefully they are going places under the new owner

Brighton FC ( 13 pitches!)

http://www.psam.uk.com/official-opening-of-bhafc-new-training-ground

Southampton _ I believe they have pitches which are exact replica of the other PL teams ( fat lot of good that did them!)

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2822280/Southampton-unveil-state-art-training-centre-memory-former-owner-Markus-Liebherr.html

and finally Oxford United ( 6 pitches plus 3G pitches)

Re: Urgent Upgrade to Training Ground demanded by Pellegrini
Our traiuning facilities are comparable to the teams around us to be fair (ie prehistoric) but I am pretty sure someone like Anderson would turn up and think "they just spent £40m on me and we train at this shithole"?

Our training facilities are nowhere near the ambition we are supposed to be showing.
